Success Story: Ascension Sciences Receives Subsidy to Support Future Talent

VANCOUVER, July 6th, 2020 — Ascension Sciences Inc. (“Ascension Sciences” or “ASI”), a laboratory focused on nanoparticle formulation development for cannabinoid therapeutics, has received $12,000 in wage subsidies from Venture for Canada (“VFC”). As part of the Student Work Placements Program, ASI is proud to be recognized as a VFC Employer and a supporter of the Government’s initiative to create over 10,000 paid student work placements in STEM.

Tomas Skrinskas, Founder and CEO of ASI stated, “Through the funding, we’re able to offer internship opportunities to two undergraduate students this summer in operations, marketing and research roles. Their efforts provide an invaluable boost to our growth and development as a company.”

“Thanks to Ascension Sciences and VFC, I have gained experience in more ways than I could have imagined and knowledge beyond my field.” said Melanie Law, a Bachelor of Science undergraduate at the University of British Columbia and Research Intern with ASI.

“If it wasn’t for VFC, I wouldn’t have had the chance to join an up-and-coming startup such as Ascension Sciences, and develop real-world skills in an exciting entrepreneurial environment,” commented Melody Lin, a Bachelor of Business Management graduate from Langara College and Marketing Intern with ASI.

ASI works with other passionate researchers in the industry who share a common goal of improving the human condition and bringing novel therapies to those who need them most.

About ASI

Employing nanoparticle formulation technology from the cutting edge of genetic medicine, Ascension Sciences is developing cannabinoid nano delivery platforms and techniques for the pharma and nutraceutical industries. Liposomes, nanoemulsions, lipid nanoparticles and polymeric nanoparticles have all shown promise in improving the therapeutic benefits of cannabinoids, but the full potential of these therapies has not yet been unlocked.

Our R&D and formulation development services are an efficient option for research driven firms that require the advantages of nanoparticle delivery for their active ingredients. We work with other passionate researchers in the industry that share a common goal of improving the human condition and bringing novel therapies to those who need them most.
